Why List on Froogle?

There are three main reasons why so many people like to list their products on Froogle before listing anywhere else. 

1.  It is FREE!  Unlike most of the other major shopping search sites, Froogle does not charge anything to list your products.  No initial fee and no cost per click.  The only thing you have to lose is a little bit of time. But even that can be minimal (see how to list).

2.  It is part of Google!  According to comScore Media Metrix, approximately one third of all English language searches are performed on Google.  Think of what this can mean for Froogle.  At any time, Google can draw tremendous attention to Froogle, as they did in March 2003, when they started adding Froogle results to their search engine results pages.

3.  It offers a simple feed.  In contrast to several other shopping search sites, Froogle does not require nearly as much information in order to submit to them.

What does it cost to list on Froogle?

Nothing.  Froogle is free.

How do I get my products listed on Froogle?

Froogle crawls the Internet regularly looking for products, so you may be picked up without doing anything. However, the best way is to submit your products directly to Froogle. The basic steps are listed below.

1.  Click here and press the APPLY NOW button.  Enter your site information and submit the form.

2.  In a short time, you will receive an email with your username and password.

3.  Use the email to sign in and fill out the form. 

4.  You will then get an email which serves as an acknowledgment letter with 3 attached files. One file is in .pdf form. It describes how to create your data feed file along with what the feed requires (you'll need to have adobe acrobat reader to open the file). The other two files are: 1) A word pad document and 2) an Excel doc. The excel doc. is an example of how to enter your product information. The Word Pad doc. is an example of what the final feed needs to look like before its sent to Froogle.

5.  You will now need to create a feed listing your products.  You can follow the instructions or use a program such as MegaFeeder to assist you.  Once you create the file, you will need to FTP it to Froogle's server.  This can be done via the above mentioned program, or by using a program such as Cuteftp or Ipswitch.

6.  Once your file is submitted, wait about 5 days and see if your products are live!  Froogle will email you when the process is complete or if they had any problems with your feed that need to be addressed. Don't be afraid to email them after 5 days to inquire for the standing of you feed if you have not heard from them.

There are no big mysteries with entering your products with Froogle.  But it can be a time consuming task to enter all your products and their details for the product feed.
